Defendant, Gregory Savage, was indicted by a grand jury with second-degree murder, a violation of LSA-R.S. 14:30.1. After a jury trial, a twelve person jury unanimously found defendant guilty as charged. Subsequent to the denial of defendant's various post-trial motions and his waiver of sentencing delays, the sentencing court ordered defendant punished by life imprisonment at hard labor, without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence...
