Defendant Stanford, charged with aggravated arson, La.R.S. 14:51, was tried by jury, convicted as charged and sentenced to six years at hard labor, two to be served without benefit of parole, probation or suspension of sentence. He appealed, asserting error in the trial court's denial of his motion for new trial and challenging the sufficiency of the evidence upon which he was convicted.1
