Defendant Leonard Franklin was charged with two counts of murder and one count of armed violence for the killing of George Smith. Following a bench trial, defendant was convicted of voluntary manslaughter and was sentenced to an eight-year prison term. On appeal he contends: (1) the trial court erred in barring testimony concerning a seven-year-old incident in which defendant was stabbed...
