Avery Smith appeals the 15-year sentence imposed by the district court upon a jury verdict on one count of being a felon in possession of a firearm in violation of 18 U.S.C. §§ 922(g)(1) and 924(e)(1). Section 924(e)(1) mandates an enhanced 15-year minimum term for a person who violates section 922(g)(1) and has three prior convictions for violent felonies.
