In December, 1980, William Taylor and his wife, Pauline, residents of New Jersey, filed a civil lawsuit in the Court of Common Pleas of Philadelphia County in which they sought to recover damages for injuries allegedly suffered by Taylor as a result of long term occupational exposure to asbestos during approximately forty years of employment in the shipbuilding industry at the New York Shipyard in Camden, New Jersey, and the Philadelphia Naval Shipyard...
