Ronald Ford was injured on the job on September 23, 1985, while employed by the National Railroad Passenger Corporation (Amtrak) as an Amtrak police officer. He was injured when he was knocked down or fell to the ground in pursuing a suspect who had attempted to break into an automobile parked at the Pennsylvania Station in Baltimore.
