On April 13, 1988, respondent was served with a notice of claim which alleged that on January 20, 1988, claimant Charles J. Salyer, Jr., an infant, was injured in a fall in the gymnasium of his school while participating in a game of kickball. The notice went on to allege that the fall and resulting injuries were caused by a "raised mat" and metal chair which created a dangerous condition.
