The appellant/defendant, Teri Ann Meitinger, was indicted with six co-defendants for conspiracy to distribute dilaudid (a highly addictive painkiller), in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 846, and seven counts of possession with intent to distribute dilaudid, in violation of 21 U.S.C. § 841(a).
