This is a workmen's compensation case.

In July 1982, the employee, Marvin Jowers, was severely injured while working for his employer, Steve Williams. Since the date of the accident, the employer's insurance carrier has paid the employee weekly benefits.

On October 21, 1988, the employee filed a complaint in the circuit court, alleging that he was entitled to permanent total disability compensation...
