See Tex.Pen.Code Ann. § 15.02 (Vernon 1974) and 1983 Tex.Gen.Laws, ch. 425, § 6, at 2373 [Tex.Rev.Civ.Stat.Ann. art. 4476-15, § 4.03(c) (Texas Controlled Substances Act), since repealed].1 Following the jury's verdict, the trial court assessed appellant's punishment...
