On January 19, 1987, the appellant, Roger Breckenridge, was injured during the course of his employment with the City of Newport Municipal Fire Department. On March 31, 1987, Breckenridge applied to the Firemen's Pension and Relief Fund for the City of Newport for disability retirement pursuant to Ark.Code Ann. § 24-11-819 (1987).
