The appellant, Emma B. Smith, was charged by information with first degree murder in connection with the stabbing death of Savannah Hester. After a bench trial, the appellant was found guilty of second degree murder, a violation of Ark. Code Ann. § 5-10-103(a)(1) (Supp.1989), and was sentenced to a twenty year term of imprisonment.
