Following a bench trial in the circuit court of Cook County, the defendant, Derrick House, was found guilty of four murders, aggravated arson, residential burglary, home invasion, attempted armed robbery and four counts of armed violence. No sentences were imposed on the residential burglary or armed violence counts. On April 28, 1986, the court found defendant eligible for the death penalty, and ultimately sentenced...
