The State's evidence tended to show the following: Suzanne Benfield, the victim of the alleged burglary and attempted rape, testified that on 17 April 1988 she locked the front door of her second floor apartment as well as the door to the patio and went to bed about 11:45 p.m. At about 1:00 a.m. she was awakened by a man standing over her. The man put his hand over her mouth, covered her face with a pillow...
