Linda Blount Jackson and Russell B. Jackson were divorced in July, 1984. Mrs. Jackson was granted sole custody of the two minor children (Brian and Reginald) born of the marriage. Alleging that the children had been physically abused by Rodney Perkins, Mrs. Jackson's fiancé, on March 29, 1988, Mr. Jackson obtained an ex parte order transferring custody of the children to himself.
