This is an appeal by the plaintiff, Keith A. Jones, from his conviction by a jury of one count of burglary and three counts of criminal damage to property. The Kansas Court of Appeals, in an unpublished opinion, filed May 11, 1990, affirmed all four convictions. We granted the plaintiff's petition for review.

The first and fourth counts against the defendant involved criminal damage to property...
