On October 18, 1988, at approximately 3:15 p.m., Sister Mary Peter purchased a $22 postal money order at the United States Post Office on 24th and Snyder Avenue in Philadelphia. As she left the building, her purse with the blank money order inside was stolen by two young men who grabbed it and fled.
