Defendant was charged with the murder of Syed Shah, but he was initially found unfit to stand trial. However, at a subsequent reinstatement hearing defendant was found fit for trial and was tried before a jury. Following instructions to the jury on the verdicts of guilty, not guilty, not guilty by reason of insanity and guilty but mentally ill, the jury found defendant guilty of murder. He was subsequently sentenced...
