This appeal arises from a suit for survivors' benefits pursuant to the Louisiana State Employees' Retirement System (Lasers, Inc.). Plaintiff, Rosetta Pace, as natural tutrix and on behalf of her minor children, Vashon and Lequan Wilson, filed suit against the State of Louisiana, through Lasers, Inc.
