This appeal concerns issues of liability and quantum as a result of a fire to a John Deere 450-C crawler dozer which C.J. Eaves owned and financed through John Deere Industrial Equipment Company.

The dozer, which Eaves purchased new in 1986 from Norwel, Inc. (hereafter Norwel), had approximately 4,000 hours of use at the time of the fire in 1988. John Deere Insurance Company (hereafter John Deere), the property damage insurer, authorized Eaves...
