In separate trials, appellant James Thomas Peebles, and his nephew Richard Peebles, were convicted of the murder and kidnapping with bodily harm of Mary Myrtle Higdon Dunn. They were each given consecutive sentences of life imprisonment. Richard Peebles' convictions and sentences were affirmed in Peebles v. State, 260 Ga. 165 (391 S.E.2d 639) (1990).
