Defendant-appellant appeals as of right two provisions of a judgment of divorce entered on September 3, 1988, by the Kent Circuit Court. We affirm in part and reverse in part.

I

The first issue is whether the trial court's award of alimony was proper. We find that it was. The award of alimony is discretionary. Pelton v Pelton, 167 Mich.App. 22; 421 N.W.2d 560
