William Victor Smith appeals the trial court's imposition of an exceptional sentence, following his conviction of assault in the second degree while armed with a deadly weapon, in violation of former RCW 9A.36.020(1)(b) and (c) and RCW 9.94A.125. Pursuant to the Sentencing Reform Act of 1981 (SRA), RCW 9.94A, Smith's criminal history established an offender score of "2" with a standard presumptive sentence range of 24 to 26 months in prison.
