In this personal injury suit, Mrs. Beatrice Lilly and her husband, Mr. Curtis Lilly, seek damages for injuries sustained by Mrs. Lilly in an auto accident which occurred on March 30, 1985.

After a jury awarded the Lillys zero damages, the trial court granted the plaintiff's motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict and awarded the Lillys $35,000.00 in general damages for Mrs. Lilly's injuries, subject to $20,000.00 already received...
