First we review defendants' cross-assignment of error that the trial judge erroneously failed to grant their motion for directed verdict made at the conclusion of plaintiffs' evidence. Defendants argue that the evidence establishes Richmond County complied with the in rem foreclosure statute and that this issue was improperly submitted to the jury.
