The defendant, Craig Mitran, was charged on January 23, 1987, with aggravated assault, resisting a peace officer, and unlawful possession of cannabis. On May 12, 1988, a jury found the defendant guilty on all three counts, and he was sentenced to one-year's probation, 60 days in the county jail, and a $300 fine.
