In December 1988, a jury found defendant, Ashley Evans, guilty of aggravated criminal sexual assault (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 12-14(a)(2)). The court sentenced defendant to 12 years' imprisonment. On appeal, defendant argues that (1) he was not proved guilty beyond a reasonable doubt because the victim's testimony was neither substantially corroborated nor clear and convincing...
