HOOD, J.

Plaintiff appeals as of right from the February 15, 1989, order of the Saginaw Circuit Court dismissing her paternity action because a prior suit had been dismissed on the basis that the six-year period of limitation had run. Specifically, the trial court ruled that the amended statute providing an eighteen-year limitation period did not apply retroactively to plaintiff's case. We reverse.
