The charge against defendant arose from the robbery of the Apothecary Shop, an Ames pharmacy, on November 16, 1987. A man armed with a hand gun entered through the back door of the store and threw a small sack at the store owner and demanded he be given all "opiates, percodans, and dilaudids."
