Defendant challenges his exceptional sentence contending (1) the trial court's reasons given for the exceptional sentence were based on evidence not properly part of the record, and (2) his exceptional sentence is a violation of equal protection because his codefendant was given a standard range sentence. The Court of Appeals upheld defendant's exceptional sentence. State v. Handley, 54 Wn.App. 377,
