A Coles County jury returned verdicts finding defendant John E. Sanders guilty of the offenses of residential burglary (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 38, par. 19-3) and theft over $300 (Ill. Rev. Stat., 1988 Supp., ch. 38, par. 16-1(a)(1)). On May 10, 1989, the circuit court entered judgment on the verdict finding him guilty of residential burglary.
