The complainant was walking his dog on Fifth Avenue and 31st Street at 1:00 P.M. on March 12, 1988 when defendant and three cohorts surrounded him. They kicked his dog and searched his shirt and pants pockets while asking for money. The complainant had no money in his pockets since he kept it in his socks.
