The defendant appeals from the judgment of conviction, rendered after a trial to the court, of the crime of lobstering while his commercial fishing license was under suspension, in violation of General Statutes § 26-61 (d).1 The defendant argued at trial that the terms of General Statutes § 26-142a (a)2 permitted him, without license, to assist a licensed fisherman.
