Defendant, Robert Thomas, was charged by complaint with driving under the influence of alcohol (DUI) (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-501(a)(2)) and driving in the wrong lane (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 95 1/2, par. 11-701). Following a jury trial, defendant was found guilty of both offenses and was sentenced to one year's probation and 60 days in the county jail, and was fined...
