This appeal involves an action for age discrimination under the Civil Rights Act, MCL 37.2101 et seq.; MSA 3.548(101) et seq. Plaintiff, now age sixty-one, enlisted in the Michigan National Guard in 1947, at the age of eighteen. He served as an active member of the Guard from 1947 through 1986, during which period he advanced from the rank of private to the rank of brigadier general. By orders dated October 21, 1986, and December 1, 1986...
