Lewis State Bank, founded in 1856, was Florida's oldest bank in continuous operation. First Florida Banks, Inc., a registered bank holding company, owned 99.34% of Lewis State's stock. The plaintiffs owned 384 shares, which amounted to nine one-hundredths of one percent.
