This case presents the issue of whether defendant Luis Anthony Rivera's convictions for various drug offenses should be reversed due to the cumulative effect of alleged deficiencies in the performance of government-appointed defense counsel, combined with the effect of the trial court's refusal to grant a pretrial continuance.
