Plaintiff, Dr. Alfred Bennun, is an associate professor of Biochemistry at Rutgers, The State University. He instituted this action on November 13, 1984 alleging that the University failed to promote him to the rank of full professor in 1981, 1982, and 1985 because of discrimination on the basis of his national origin and in retaliation for prior litigation against the University.
