The state appeals from a decision of the superior court ordering it to comply with the terms of an interest arbitration award assigning certain state job classifications to collective bargaining agreement pay ranges. In the proceedings before the arbitrator, the parties argued the question whether the assignment of positions to pay ranges is a mandatory subject of bargaining. The arbitrator concluded that it is.
