ASPEN, District Judge:

On May 4, 1980, Daniel Holland abducted a suburban female teenager and, at knife-point, sexually assaulted her. A Cook County, Illinois circuit court jury subsequently found him guilty of rape, deviate sexual assault, aggravated kidnapping, and armed robbery.
