The defendant, Edward S. Alpaugh, Jr., was charged by affidavit1 with hunting turkey over bait, in violation of La.R.S. 56:124(10)(a). This offense is a class two violation for purposes of sentencing. La. R.S. 56:124(10)(b); La.R.S. 56:32.2 The defendant pled not guilty and, after a trial, was found guilty as charged. He was sentenced to pay a fine of $250 plus costs, or in default of payment...
