Defendant Eddie Willis was convicted of two separate counts of aggravated battery (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, par. 12-4(b)(6)) and (attempt) escape (Ill.Rev.Stat.1987, ch. 38, pars. 31-6(a), 8-4(a)) and was sentenced to five years' imprisonment for the offenses of aggravated battery and five years' imprisonment for the offense of (attempt) escape.
