Defendant, James Washington, was charged by indictment with criminal sexual assault (Ill.Rev.Stat., 1985, ch. 38, par. 12-13-(a)(1)) and aggravated criminal sexual assault. (Ill.Rev.Stat., 1985, ch. 38, par. 12-14(a)(1).) Following a bench trial, the defendant was convicted of aggravated criminal sexual assault and sentenced to 10 years' imprisonment.
