Maria C. Reyes1 filed suit against Farmers Insurance Company under her uninsured motorist coverage for injuries she received when struck by a hit-and-run driver. The jury returned a verdict in favor of Reyes for $253,000, but on finding that the coverage of the Farmers' policy was limited to $100,000 the court entered judgment in the sum of $100,000.
