On August 31, 1985, plaintiff Bradier Steve Landol Rivera was working as night manager of the Golden Skillet fast-food restaurant in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico, when a robber entered, jumped over the counter and, at gunpoint, demanded all of the available cash.
