The plaintiff, the Chicago Housing Authority (CHA), filed a complaint against the defendant, Jacqueline Rose, seeking possession of the defendant's apartment in the Cabrini-Green public housing project. The CHA maintained that the discovery by the police of two shotguns in the defendant's apartment constituted a violation of her lease. A jury returned a verdict in favor of the defendant.
