OPINION

MIRABAL, Justice.

The trial court convicted appellant of delivery of a controlled substance, namely, cocaine, and assessed punishment at five years confinement, probated, and a fine of $5,000.00.

On October 29, 1987, the trial judge conducted a pre-trial hearing on appellant's motion to dismiss based on entrapment, and the trial judge said he would rule on the matter in "about a week." On November 11, 1988, the court heard two additional...
