In this original proceeding for writ of habeas corpus, relator Michael Lynn Linder seeks his release from the Kaufman County Jail. The matter arises out of a child support contempt case. Relator contends the trial court's contempt order is void because: (1) although the contempt judgment was signed on July 5, 1989, and he was jailed on that same date, the writ of commitment did not issue...
