On October 12, 1987, defendant Gaston Williams was charged by a bill of information with three counts of distribution of cocaine, a violation of La.R.S. 40:967A(1). On May 17, 1988, the defendant was found guilty by a twelve member jury on all three counts. On June 22, 1988 the defendant was sentenced to serve eight years at hard labor for each count, the sentences to run concurrently. Additionally, the trial judge fined the defendant $10...
