NEWBERN, Justice.

Joseph Turrise, the appellant, was the driver of a van in which the appellees, Wilda Crane and Lawrence J. Ruschke were passengers. The van ran off the road and overturned, and Mrs. Crane, joined by her husband, and Ruschke sued Turrise alleging the wreck and their resulting injuries were due to his negligence. A jury verdict signed by nine of the jurors who heard the case was returned in favor of Turrise...
